(October 18, 2022) – Barrelhouse 6 Distillery entered into the 2022 North American Whiskey Manhattan Cocktail Competition for the first time and came home with wonderful standings. After being evaluated by an esteemed panel of Chicago area bartenders and buyers, B6S’s Brothers’ 1910 Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon Whiskey tied for a third place! The Brothers’ 1910 Sherry Cask Finished Whiskey has a golden amber color with an aroma of grilled corn dipped in drawn butter, raspberry cherry vanilla frosting, and dried herbs. Our whiskey was even regarded as a “crowd pleaser” by the whole panel of judges.

In addition, the Beverage Testing Institute awarded B6D with two gold medals for 2022! One for our Brothers’ 1910 Sherry Cask Finished Bourbon Whiskey and one for our Brothers’ 1910 Empire Rye Casked Finished Straight Rye Whiskey. Both earning an astounding 91 points! These two beverages were the first of B6D’s drinks to earn gold medals from the BTI. Building from the already exceptional silver medal finishes of our Sisters’ 1924 London Dry Gin and Middle Finger Moonshine in 2021.

The Beverage Testing Institute was founded in 1981 and has become the most comprehensive and reliable source for alcohol beverage product tasting and professional reviews in the world. From what started as the first international wine competition in the United States, has turned into trustworthy review of the world’s best beer, spirits, cider, sake, mead, and more. In addition to providing recognition to the best beverages of the year, the Beverage Testing Institute aims help to develop and improve the industry as a whole.
